Shanghai index rebounds for the first time after entering bear market as PBOC eases policy

The Shanghai Composite Index was up 1.2 per cent at the noon break. Still, the gauge has fallen 8.9 per cent in June, and is bound for its biggest monthly drop since January 2016. A measure tracking stocks on the tech-heavy Shenzhen exchange surged 2 per cent.
